There are many guys out there that are looking to build bigger muscle fast. Unfortunately, most of these men don't know the proper strategies to build muscle and will waste an incredible amount of time in the gym. Your body will only build muscle when you are imposing great stress on it.

I'm not talking about the stress you put up with at work. I'm talking about the physical stress you need to impose on your muscles.

Think about this... Your body is a machine that will adapt to its environment. If you're doing twenty pushups a night, your body is going to build muscle so you can complete your twenty pushups. You'll continue to build muscle until the twenty pushups become much easier.

Now, if you only do the twenty pushups and no more, your body isn't going to build more muscle. Why? Because it doesn't have to. Your body is no longer stressed, so it no longer has to adapt. It's already built the necessary muscle to do the same twenty pushups you do every night. Therefore, it no longer has to build muscle.

So, in order to build bigger muscle you need to continue putting physical stress on the body. This means lifting heavy weights and continuing to progress in the amount of weight you lift. Use an amount of weight that allows you to complete 5-8 reps per set. As soon as you can easily complete 8 reps, it's time to increase the weight. Continue to lift heavier and your body will build bigger muscle.

The best way to ensure that you're making progress is to keep a workout log. Each time you go to the gym, write down the number of reps and the amount of weight you lifted. The next time you do the same exercise, take a look at the log. Make it a goal to make progress from week to week. As soon as you seen the number going up it will suddenly become a competition against yourself. Then you will definitely see yourself build bigger muscle.
